Happy 2nd Birthday Marissa Qaseh Raihanah

Marissa Qaseh Raihanah, another unique baby's name, she's my colleague's who also happens to be a regular at Simply Chantique. Thank you so much Wan. I'm sure, so much love, effort, time and consideration were put into finding just the best name for one's baby.

Talking about names for babies, I have another friend whose children's names all start with every letter in his name and mind you, there are a total of 11 letters in his name alone! Hehehehe.. to date he has reached the 6th letter and still counting. His wife, on the other hand has 12 letters in her name. Children are blessings from God, they bring utmost happiness in which no words can express.

Okay, back to the original topic hihihi.. sorry people I tend to deviate. She ordered this chocolate moist birthday cake for her daughter's 2nd birthday, topped with yummilicious chocolate ganache and an edible image of the all-time favorite pink Hello Kitty.
A mother's instinct is always the best. Not wanting to disappoint her eldest son, she ordered these 'Ultraman' cupcakes for him otherwise a 'bomb' would explode or so mummy said hehehehe.. Thanks Wan!

Congratulation Tijah & Fauzi On Your Engagement!

It was raining cats and dogs, kitten and puppies when Zuraizah aka Meck came to collect these fondant cupcakes for her dear friend's engagement as one of the 'hantaran'.

I really have a soft spot for this kind of friendship, an honest, unconditional one. That's why, when Zu asked me to make these, I still accepted even though it was very last minute. Aiyoo.. me and my weaknesses.. sigh! Hehehehe..
Well, being very understanding, my dear lovely petite Zu asked me to do only a simple fondant deco with green and white as the main colors.. hmm.. hehehehe... simple?? Okay, this is the result of my definition of a 'simple deco'.

Well, I still see these as simple, with just sprays of colorful sugar flowers & the wordings laid on fondant ribbons. It reminds me of gardens in Spring season! Hehehe.. a vacation is in a planning stage, hopefully time & money, of course, will permit.

Thank you so much dear Zu, don't forget to order from us when it's your turn later.. soon.. *wink* *wink*.. hehehehe.. insyaAllah..

Fresh Fruits Cake from Sharon for Her Lovely Sister's Birthday

Who on earth doesn't love a good & happy surprise?? Well, I've a friend who doesn't hehehe.. pls notice the 'singular' article 'a'. It took my husband a while to master the art of 'surprising' me. I spent quite some time pretending to be surprised hahahaha! Until just when we were about to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, I was genuinely surprised for the 1st time. Nevertheless, the journey of discovering each others' antics was awesome!
At Simply Chantique's Cupcakes & Cakes, we just couldn't resist surprising our customers' loved ones.

As in the case of Sharon, a returning customer (we made the cupcakes for her wedding), she ordered this fresh fruits cake and I do mean 'fresh fruits' not canned ones (as you can see in the picture; that's only the filling people!), for a surprise birthday party meant for her sister.

You know what, whether you are pretending or genuinely surprised, do take a moment to appreciate the time and effort put into 'surprising' you because by doing that you might just realize how loved you are. Doesn't that make you feel blessed...? Thank you so much Sharon, I truly hope you all had a great time at the party.

A Very Belated Merry Christmas 2010!

Hahahaha!! Better late than never right?? Me & my procrastination... please forgive me. I have to juggle baking, decorating & updating the blog at the same time, & of course.. the shopping and the loafing, napping etc etc.. hihihi.. forgive me!
Here are some of the cakes & cupcakes as ordered on the recent 25th December 2010. The chocolate moist cake which was wonderfully covered in chocolate ganache, which I tend to get carried away decorating with hehehe.. was ordered by a returning customer, Mdm Dulipa.
We waited but it didn't snow.. sigh! Hehehehe.. so I just had to make do with snow powder instead on the cake. I just couldn't resist the adorable santa, so he got a prime spot as well. Even though by right he's not supposed to be of the same height as the two christmas trees.. hey, it's Christmas!! Miracles happened ekekekeke..
Now these 100 pieces of chocolate moist cupcakes were ordered by Feinnie of Kepayan to be brought back all the way to Kota Marudu, her hometown.

She asked for a simple buttercream deco with white and red as the main colors, but again, of course, I got carried away. Forgive me.. hihihi.. I hope that explains the extra sprinkles and green leaves. Yet again, it's Christmas! The more the merrier hehehehe.. I hope Feinnie didn't mind.

Me, Tisya & my hubby Hizzol would like to very belatedly wish all our christian friends, may all of you had had the merriest Christmas 2010 ever! Thank you for all your support.

Carrot Walnut Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Topping for Dawn

I've known Dawn since we were kids. She went to the same school with my younger sis, Sofiah. Her father, uncle Alex was once my colleague hehehehe.. How's that possible? Well, I worked part time with my dad as my boss hihihi... while waiting for my SPM result, that was way back in 1993.

How time flies.. we are all grown ups & happily married now but friendships remain. Little did I know, all this while she's also in KK and staying just a few blocks away from where my sister used to stay last time before she moved out.

So Dawn contacted me to order 40 pieces of carrot walnut cupcakes with cream cheese topping. I hope she enjoyed them as much I enjoy reminiscing my childhood memories. Wait for my updates on my beloved Sabah, Land Below the Wind with reviews on interesting places. Cheerio!!

Happy Birthday to Asriana Athellina

Such a nice & beautiful name; Asriana Athellina. I must admit, parents nowadays are very creative in finding names for their kids. Well, why shouldn't they? Your name can lay the foundation for your personality. Some individuals live their entire lives saddled with names they despise. Enough said, the effect of a name should not be underestimated. Ehem.. excuse me, my educator's instinct has taken over my baker's instinct yet again hehehehe...

This Yam cake with Fresh Cream topping was ordered by Fiona for her niece's birthday. Fiona is my sister's colleague. Once again, we used Simply Chantique's Edible Image for this particular order. The chosen image was that of Detective Conan.. err.. don't ask me, I'll try to watch it next time hahahaha!

Okay, I just can't resist the temptation to write more about name. I had, recently took necessary action to protect my beloved "Simply Chantique" from being copied. "Chantique" is my version of a Malay word; cantik which means beautiful or pretty. I had noticed that some "friends' were as keen in using the name. Hmm.. I don't mind only the "Simply" part or only the "Chantique" part.. but BOTH?? Come on.. you can do better than that! Well, we are now officially Simply Chantique® Cupcakes & Cakes. Thank you so much for all your support!
