Pingy is 1!!

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed only if
there is a light from within.

7 January 2012 ~ Yeay! Alhamdulillah.. finally I've reached the update for current year hihihihi... must be Pingy's jinx!

Another beauty with an extremely amazing brain, a pilot in the making & a gorgeous and loving mummy; Azrina Johari Ho. She's such a pleasant character to deal with and it's not surprising that we become friends until today.

Right back to her order for her beloved adorable daughter; Pingy's 1st birthday. Azrina had ordered 40pcs of M size chocolate moist & banana cupcakes.

These were meant as giveaways for guests. All the cupcakes were decorated in fondant with cute figurines of teddy bears, milk bottles, rubber ducks and baby booties. Couldn't get any cuter than that hehehehe...

The cupcakes were then individually packed with personalized thank you tags & ribbons. To get compliments from Azrina & the family took all the fatigue of sleepless days away. The dad said "Tisya is an intelligent baker.." owww..... hehehehe thank you so much uncle. You made me blushed

To receive another text message from Azrina upon knowing that I'd upgraded the M size she ordered for to L for foc, was the icing on the cake;

"Aww.. ur so nice la Tisya. Never met someone like u. We should meet up okay... thank u so much. So must keep the change okie. Ikhlas from me also. Ur a very nice friend. Thank u again tisya...take care dear"

Thank you so much yet again my dear Azrina. Hugs & kisses for Pingy! 'Fly' to your heart's content and errr... any extra seat for me dear in the cockpit?? Hehehehehe... Cheerio!

Reunion 2011 ~ SK Tg. Aru 1

30 December 2011 ~ Ira.. Ira... Ira... hehehehe... my gorgeous loyal customer & a dear friend. A true beauty in my opinion, calm & poised in whatever situations, and brainy as well.

This was her errr... 4th? 5th order kah Ira?? Soweeeyyyy... I lost count dah hehehehe... for the umpteenth time lah senang.

It was for her primary school reunion; SK Tg Aru 1. She had ordered 30pcs of chocolate butter fancy cookies for the doorgifts. Decorated in blue & red colored royal icing. As usual, even though she said; "buat simple ja Tisya, apa2 ja la.." well... You know me! I got carried away yet again & ended up doing the marbling effects instead which was very time consuming but I didn't mind. It's a therapy for me...hehehehe...

Apart from that, Ira had also ordered 30pcs of chocolate moist cupcakes topped with edible images of SK Tg Aru 1 batch. Also for the purpose to be given away as doorgifts. Lucky alumnus.

To receive Ira's text message upon receiving the cookies & cupcakes stating how happy she was with them, made me slept like a baby that very night.. Well being nocturnal, it did mean a lot hehehehe..

Thanks yet again Ira! Luv ya lots!
... and there are so many ssssssssss..... out there! Hehehehe...

Just for you ~ Lisa Elexsa

28 December 2012 ~ It's been a while since the last time I updated on my customers' orders. I'll have to yap less I guess... goshhh... it's gonna be very very difficult but it has to be done. Hehehehe...

In order to catch up on my long list of impending updates, I will solemnly pledge to lessen my entry or so called expression and will just concentrate on the nature of the order itself. Thank you. Fingers crossed. Hihihihi...

Okay, here we have a 3-tier wedding cake for one gorgeous lady with an equally lovely name, Lisa Elexsa. She had opted for vanilla sponge cake with fondant deco.

She did ask for a 'simple' deco so long as the base is white and the details in blue. Hmmm... all the minimalists out there would be cursing me under their breath hehehehe..

Each tier was donned in a combination of blue & white sugar flowers. On top of the 3rd tier, a wedding doll that 'had' a very sentimental value to me. Yes. Past tense. It's broken into pieces during a wedding in Papar.. sob sob.. it was my very first wedding doll. I have new ones.. but nothing can ever compare to your first right..? Here I go again. Stop!

Thank you so much Lisa and congratulations on your wedding even though it's too late hehehe.. Better late than never right??! Don't answer. It's a rhetorical question for myself. Cheers!

Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu ~ A Truly Multicultural Melting Pot

It's not just another ordinary Sunday, here in Gaya Street, KK!

Come Sunday, Gaya street will come alive. Literally! Your visit to Kota Kinabalu city will not be complete should you choose to skip this one particular destination. Suffice to say, it's an iconic location that is located practically in the Kota Kinabalu Central Business District and has been around for over a hundred years.
Lintasan Deasoka for Cultural Performances, exhibitions etc etc.. and of course for 'lepaking'} kids you are strictly prohibited from using this term. It's loafing. Ehem!

Street musicians that can actually play any songs upon request
With only RM20, you can get the best foot massage in town by the awesomest people. I love 'interviewing' them of their lives' experiences. That's mighty Abang Des, leftmost in maroon t-shirt. He's an excellent singer as well! Go & meet him at Gaya Street. You'll be in for the most heartwarming stories of his life. I promise.

Personally, I never get tired of this market where you can find basically everything; from food to local souvenirs, pets to flowers and whatever plants and herbs that you can think of, local produce to antiques, you name it, Gaya Street has got it!
Anybody knows what this is?? Looks very 'woody'.. derrr... hehehehe
...and this..??
I bought this and it decided to die.. it's not me really. It's IT! :-(
She sells seashells by the seashore.. The shell that she sells are seashells I'm sure..
Hand-woven bags..
Antiques for sale..

It is a fully functional street which is opened to the traffic every other day except for Sunday, 6.30am to 1pm, in which it's closed down to make way for this very unique weekly affair.
I had one last time. If you notice the 'past tense' then good. So no more. So sad.
Still ada nawaitu.. but I repented cepat2 hehehehe...
One too happy puppy.. strolling in a 'meadow' of fishes in plastic bags..
Hawtttt hattttt anyoneee???? err... and lesung batu as well!
Butterflies.. made of chicken & duck feathers
Fresh water pearls.. salt water pearls.. oh my pearlsss!!
This will make quite an impressive advert for Nivea lotion. Yes. They use it to mosturize the phyton skin hokey!! It must be good.. very good indeed...

Along this very same road, there's another iconic building; our very own Jesselton Hotel which has been in the business since 1954. It's been 58 long glorious years and still going strong. I admire the colonial architecture of the building, a reminiscent of an English country house. Stepping into the boutique-styled hotel, you will be transported back into the bygone era, when the English roamed Kota Kinabalu.
Jesselton Hotel

The smell of freshly baked scones in the Mountbatten Lounge is simply too heavenly to be ignored. At a very affordable rate, I highly recommend this hotel and every other interesting spots in KK will be just within walking distance.
Two of my fave eateries, side by side. Yeahhh!

Just next to the hotel, opposite to be exact, is my fave breakfast station; Fook Yuen. Aha! Don't be alarmed just yet with the name haaaa.... It's all HALAL people! Hehehehe... in fact it's very common for halal Chinese restaurants here in KK to retain their Chinese name.
Oohhh lalaaaa....

It offers fresh & cheap quick hearty food. I mean, being half Chinese, breakfast is a MUST and I just can't live without my dim sum! They bake their own bread daily and one of their signature dishes is the Roti Kahwin; thick fresh toasts layered with your choices of jams. Enjoy this with a glass of their teh c ping special (milky iced tea with palm sugar) ... alamak... heaven!
A cozy atmosphere
Beauty of innocence.. the chaos didn't seem to stir him from his reading

It has such a welcoming ambience, and even with the absence of air-conditioning units, the coffeehouse is very airy and comfy. The marble-topped tables and wooden stools kinda remind me of the old 'Kopitiam" that I used to frequent with my late grandad when I was a kid.. } very past tense hokeyyyy... hehehehe.. He liked his coffee black and he would let it spilled from the cup to the saucer. He then would carefully swirl the saucer to cool down the hot coffee and sipped it slowly. Watching him doing that was like poetry in motion. I miss my Nek Sai..

Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1432 Hijrah and Maaf Zahir & Batin. Thank you so much for your continuous support, as my readers, customers & most importantly as my friends. I'll be on another long hiatus for God knows how long, during which I may not be able to take any orders :-(

Please accept my sincere apology for this as I need time to recollect myself. I've to juggle so many things at the moment and my so called 'multi-tasking' ability has suddenly come to a halt hehehe... I need to focus on more important things now.

No. I'm not giving up. Allah has entrusted me with this trial and I will not betray Him by giving up easily. It's funny how desperate people tend to be to see your downfall.. so desperate that they didn't think twice in using religious 'back-ups' without any obvious knowledge of the haq & bathil, aqli & naqli understandings.. along which, not noticing that they've created bid'ah; creating their own hukum.

This only creates an ignorant so called intellectual generation, who has no qualm in labeling others as sinners without any witnesses and evidences, while committing obvious sins themselves; i.e going against their own parents, husband & most of all, Allah's will. All in the name of desperation. Then my dear brothers & sisters in Islam, there's no difference between us really. In utmost humility, I wish not to extend on this, even though Islamic Revealed Knowledge was my minor.

The equation is simple; You degrade a person = Allah upgrades the person more and degrade you deservingly. A solemn note for myself as well.

Alhamdulillah, I have the support of so many who love me unconditionally those who know me better than all the obscenities intended for me. Alhamdulillah as well our love & bond are getting stronger each day and that's the beauty of patience & perseverance. So what makes a person anything but 'GOOD' to you? Just when you are about to be tested by God, you get too focused on finding others' flaws when yours are showing more each day. Threatening doesn't pay. It only creates more distance. I rest my case.

Salam Aidilfitri everyone, Maaf Zahir & Batin. Enjoy your raya peeps! Hugs & kisses.
